Morris covers a dead Milo’s head. The Chinese are taking Josh to Cheng while his hysterical mother begs them to leave him. They are about to shoot her to shut her up, but Jack tells them he can calm her down. Cheng’s men drag Josh through the sewer tunnel.

Cheng’s men split up the staff at CTU into two groups. They tell them they are not going to hurt them if they cooperate. They are going to put them in secure rooms.

Jack whispers to Nadia they need to make a move now or they will never get the component back. Jack, Nadia and Morris are at the back of the group. Jack attacks a guard, as does Nadia and Morris.

Doyle shows up. Jack tells Doyle they need to go after Josh and Cheng. Nadia tells Jack he is still under arrest. He tells her he knows the building better than anyone and can find where Cheng’s people are. She lets him go, but Doyle is in charge. Of course, Jack makes all the calls.

Cheng calls Phillip Bauer, Jack’s dad. He tells him he has Josh. Phillip wants to talk to Josh. He tells Josh he is sorry. Josh says, “Sorry you’re sorry.” Phillip says he wouldn’t hurt him, but Josh reminds him he told his mother if she didn’t do what he asked he would kill Josh. Phillip tells him that he wants to take him to China so they can make a fresh start. Cheng tells Josh he is taking him to his grandfather. Josh tells him that he does not want to go.

As they are leaving the garage, Jack comes up from the sewer and begins shooting at Cheng’s vehicle. Josh kicks Cheng and runs off. Jack corners Cheng and tells him to drop his weapon. Josh yells for help and as Jack looks for him, Cheng disappears. Jack tells Josh he will take him back to his mother.

Vice President Daniels is briefed by Karen Hayes that the Russians have moved their troops within striking distance. VP Daniels informs her of the situation with Lisa, including his relationship with her.

Lisa is forced to make love with Bishop so he doesn’t realize she is onto him. After they are finished, he asks why she is so distant. She says she is tired and goes into the bathroom. Bishop is about to upload the information from her PDA when he senses that something is not right.

He asks again what is going on and she snaps by breaking her wine glass over his head and then grabs the wine bottle and hits him with it. She tells him she knows he was spying on her to the Russians. Bishop grabs her by the throat. Lennox and the agents quickly run into her apartment. Lennox tells Bishop they have proof he has been spying for the Russians. He tells Bishop to upload the e-mails from Lisa’s PDA.

Cheng calls Phillip and tells him he lost Josh, that Jack got him. Phillip tells Cheng he failed to deliver his part of the bargain and he will not give him the repaired circuit board.

The staff at CTU are trying to get thing going again when a team from Division arrives.

VP Daniels sets up a teleconference with President Suvarov and tells him they have destroyed the circuit board. President Suvarov tells VP Daniels they were also watching Lisa’s apartment and saw the raid and know they planted the information. He tells Daniels he had two hours to find the circuit board.

Lennox returns to the White House and is about to enter the meeting with the VP when he receives a call from Phillip Bauer, who will give them the circuit board in exchange for Josh.

As Jack and Josh are about to head back to CTU, Doyle suddenly takes Josh and puts him on a helicopter. Jack tries to get to him, but CTU agents hold him back.

This Week on “24”

Doyle tells Josh his grandfather has something the country needs. They will go through the motions, but as soon as he (Doyle) gets what Phillip has, he will get him back. Doyle injects a tracking device in Josh so they can find him if his grandfather gets away with him.

Jack calls Chloe and asks why they are giving Josh to Phillip. She tells him Vice President Daniels made a deal with him in order to get the sub-circuit board back. Jack knows Phillip will not keep his word.

Jack calls Karen Hayes and tells her his father cannot be trusted. He begs her to do whatever she can to stop the trade of Josh and the sub-circuit board.

Karen tells Lennox about Jack’s call. He tells her he cannot go against the VP, but if she chooses to, he will not look her way. Karen calls Bill Buchanan. She fills him in on the situation with Josh and Phillip. She asks him to do whatever it takes to help get Josh back.

Doyle goes to the meeting place. Phillip tells Doyle to have CTU turn off the satellite feed. Phillip wants to talk to his grandson. Josh tells him that he hates him. So far, Phillip cannot see the tracking device Doyle injected in Josh.

Karen calls Nadia at CTU. She tells her that the vice president wants to know everyone is on board. She is to keep track of Jack and tells Nadia to give her the security code so she can track Jack’s transfer to CTU.

Bill runs the CTU vehicle carrying Jack off of the road. He approaches the vehicle and talks to the driver. While Bill is detaining the driver, Jack grabs the gun from the other agent and cuffs him to the vehicle steering wheel. He slowly gets out and points the gun at the driver. He cuffs him to the vehicle. Jack and Bill go after Josh.

Phillip calls Doyle. He instructs Josh and Doyle to head toward the water. Phillip’s henchmen arrive. They tell Doyle to hand over the boy. Doyle wants to see the sub-circuit board. He opens it up; it explodes in his face. Phillip’s men head for the watercraft to return Josh to his grandfather. Phillip instructs them to check Josh for a tracking device, which they find and short out the signal.

Jack and Bill show up as Josh is being taken away. They call for medical attention for Doyle. He also tells her the component was a fake.

Jack reports that Doyle’s injuries are not life threatening, but he will be blind in one or both eyes.

Jack says he thinks Phillip may be on an oil platform nearby. His father has shelter corporations that own oil properties. He tells CTU to look for platforms in a 10 mile radius.

Back at CTU, Chloe feels faint and finally collapses. (I think she is pregnant).

Josh arrives at Phillip’s location. Josh tells him he does not want to be with him.

CTU finds the oil rig Phillip and Josh are on. They report to VP Daniels. The Defense Secretary recommends to Daniels they should launch an air attack on the rig. Lennox tells Daniels Josh will be killed. Daniels tells Lennox many more will be killed if they do not recover or destroy the sub-circuit board.

Jack and Bill commandeer the helicopter. Bill offers to fly the chopper. Jack grabs the weapons and the two head for the oil rig. The F-18’s launched by the Navy lock their radar onto the target of the oil rig.

Josh hits his grandfather in the back of the head and takes his gun. He tells Phillip he is not going with him. Josh fires the gun at Phillip and hits him in the shoulder. Jack approaches and talks Josh out of the gun. He sends Josh to the helicopter. Bill takes off, while Josh is telling him to not leave his uncle. Bill tells him that he isn’t leaving him. Jack jumps onto the ladder from the helicopter. Bill flies off with Jack dangling on the ladder.

The F-18s launched the missiles and hit the platform.

As the chopper gets closer to the beach, Jack drops off of the ladder into the ocean. Josh and Bill go back to CTU. Josh wants to know why they are leaving Jack; Bill tells him Jack isn’t ready to go yet.

Morris checks in on Chloe, who announces that she collapsed because she is pregnant.

At the White House, Tom Lennox talks VP Daniels into letting Karen and Bill “retire.” VP Daniels agrees and Tom gives him the incriminating audio tape.

Back at CTU, Nadia asks about Jack and Bill tells her he didn’t want to be rescued. They will not find Jack unless he wants to be found.

Jack arrives at James Heller’s home, where Audrey is recovering. He asks Heller why he didn’t to get him out of China. He had the power to accomplish it.

Jack goes in to see Audrey, who is unconscious. He takes her hand and tells her he loves her. Jack leaves the house and walks to the edge of the Pacific Ocean. He stands staring out at the ocean.

Grade: A, but only because it “appears” Phillip Bauer is dead and the U.S> is saved.

This was the Season Finale!

Doyle hijacks a car on the highway after Jack ditched him on the way to meet Cheng. Doyle calls Buchanan and tells him Jack forced him out of the truck.

Jack pulls off of the road and takes the transmitter out of the circuit board that tells CTU where he is.

VP Daniels asks Lennox what his intentions are concerning the incriminating audio tape Lennox has of VP Daniels and his assistant. Lennox tells VP Daniels he has his support and will not use the recording against him.

Jack calls Cheng and tells him CTU is against him bringing the component. Jack tells Cheng he will pick the exchange location. They will exchange Audrey Raines for the component. They agree to meet at an old motel.

Back in the Oval Office, VP Daniels tells Lisa (his assistant) that all he can do is think of her. After an unattractive kiss, he asks her to spend the night. She goes home to get a change of clothes. Yuck — what does she see in him?

Doyle is trying to track Jack and finds fresh tire tracks under a power line. He heads in the direction of the tire tracks. Doyle asks Nadia if there are any phone calls made from the cell phone that Jack is using and Cheng. She finds some and tells Boyle where Jack was when the calls were made.

Karen is warned that someone from the Department of Justice is waiting to talk to her. He has been interrogating Reed Pollock, who said CTU had Fayed in custody two years ago and then let him go. (Reed Pollock is the weasel who attempted to assassinate President Palmer). Since Fayed was the terrorist who was responsible for killing 15,000 people, someone is going take the blame for letting him go. It is best for the White House if Buchanan takes the blame. Karen calls Bill and tells him that she has to fire him. He argues, but the deed is done. B

Jack places a bomb in the walls of the abandoned motel. He then calls Buchanan and leaves a voicemail telling him that the component will be incinerated in the explosion. He also asks Bill to take care of Audrey.

Cheng arrives at the motel. Jack tells him that he wants to see Audrey first. Cheng orders Audrey out of his car. She is gagged, so Jack takes the gag out of her mouth. It is the first time they have seen each other in almost two years. Jack tells her that he is “so sorry,” and then tells her a taxi will take her to CTU.

After Jack sees her safely away, he gives Cheng the component. Immediately after he does that, Doyle who had been waiting for back up, starts shooting. Cheng disappears with the component. He had planned on blowing up Cheng, himself and the component. Doyle screwed it all up. (If Jack was going to detonate the explosion, why give Cheng the component?)

Jack is arrested. He tells Doyle that he had it handled. They bring Audrey back to the motel, who keeps saying over and over again, “Help me, Jack. Please don’t let them do this to me.” He realizes that the Chinese have done something to her.

VP Daniels’ assistant Lisa heads home to get a change of clothes and is greeted by her lover. (Aha! It gets interesting!) After a quick toss in the hay, she goes to take a shower and lover boy gets her PDA and downloads it.

After the teleconference ends, VP Daniels wants to know how they found out so quickly. A spy! Lennox and Karen both say they will investigate the White House staff and CTU to locate the spy.

An injured Jack gets an injection for the pain so he can go for another hour. Doyle thanks him for everything he did to make sure the bombs were secured and Fayad was captured (or in this case, killed).

Jack calls Cheng back. Cheng wants the Russian nukes so they can have access to defense technology. They will give Jack Audrey in exchange. Jack tells him the military has the nukes, but Cheng replies, “You will find a way.”

Lennox sees that President Palmer is weak and tries to talk him into going back to the medical center, but he refuses. President Palmer asks Lennox what he has on VP Daniels. Lennox tells him he has a tape recording of VP Daniels and Lisa conspiring to commit perjury. Karen Hayes comes in and tells them CTU has killed Fayad and secured the nukes.

Jack calls Chloe and tells her Audrey is still alive. He wants Chloe to get him the schematics for the bombs. She goes to Morris’ computer and sends the information to Jack’s cell phone.

VP Daniels is called to the Oval Office to meet with President Palmer. The President asks for VP Daniels resignation. VP Daniels refuses, but President Palmer tells him that he could expose Lennox’s tape recording if he refuses.

Morris notices someone hacked into his computer and is about to call security when Chloe tells him she was the one who was in his computer. He wants an explanation, so she finally tells him about Jack going to rescue Audrey.

Jack goes to where the nukes are being guarded and tells the guards he has orders from the President to take the circuit board from the bombs. Jack removes the board that matches the schematics Chloe uploaded to his phone.

Doyle comes in and tries to get Jack to stand down. Of course he refuses (nothing gets in Jack’s way). One of the guards hits him with his rifle and knocks Jack out. Doyle has the guard cuff Jack.

Doyle calls Buchanan. Jack talks to him and tells him he would never turn the circuit board over to the Chinese. He doesn’t get anywhere with Bill so he tells Bill that he wants to talk to President Palmer.

President Palmer takes the call from Jack. Jack tells him his plan for the rescue of Audrey. He says he will use C-4 to bomb the circuit board if necessary once Audrey is safe. President Palmer tells him the C-4 bomb will destroy everything within 30 feet, including Jack. Jack, of course, knows this. Jack tells the President, “You owe me!” I love that a person can tell the President of the United States that! The President concedes.

Jack asks Doyle to help him get Audrey back. Doyle asks why he wants his help and he tells him he will be destroying the circuit board after he makes sure Audrey is safe.

VP Daniels tells Lisa the President has asked him to resign. He says he is going to do as the President asks. He tells her the President has the tape of them talking.

At the news conference, the President starts mixing up his words and finally collapses. He has had a cerebral hemorrhage. The Vice President takes his resignation and puts it in his pocket.

The doctor reports that he doesn’t think the President will regain consciousness soon.

VP Daniels is now the acting President.

Karen calls Bill and tells him Daniels wants Jack stopped. Bill calls Doyle and tells him what has happened and wants Jack brought back to CTU. Jack senses that something is up and pulls a gun on Doyle. Jack tells him he killed his partner earlier in the day because he tried to stop him.

This Week on “24”

Grade: C-. I was fairly bored with this one! Also getting tired of CTU being brilliant technically and dumber than a box of rocks when it is time to go into action!

Lennox tries to convince President Palmer to stop the missile that is targeted to hit Fayad’s country. Tom tells him the Ambassador is doing everything he can to help find the bombs.

Karen calls Bill and asks if they have gotten any information about the bomb’s whereabouts from Fayad. Bill tells Karen Jack is interrogating Fayad now. Karen tells Bill the President has launched the missile on Fayad’s country.

The missile gets picked up on Fayad’s country’s radar. The Ambassador calls the President and begs the him to stop. They have uncovered new information on General Habib, who has been helping Fayad plan the attacks! President Palmer accuses the Ambassador of lying. He tells him that he will abort the missile, but demands that the Ambassador come to the White House. The missile is dumped into the Gulf.

Jack is interrogating Fayad but he isn’t talking. Duh! Like we all thought he would?

Bill calls Jack and tells him about the General’s arrest. Bill wants Fayad brought to CTU to use more drastic measures in interrogating him.

Tom Lennox apologizes to the President for doubting his leadership of the country. President Palmer tells Tom he is not David (former President David Palmer, President Wayne Palmer’s older brother — you know, the Kennedys) and never will be.

On the transport of Fayad back to CTU, an armored truck runs into the van and causes an accident. Doyle is hit, then Jack is hit. Fayad is assisted into the armored truck and escapes! When is this guy going to get his???? As they drive away, Doyle and Jack stand up and back up arrives. It is a ruse! Ha! I was so fooled!

The agents (or fake terrorists) tell Fayad that General Habib sent them. Fayad wants a gun that the agents give him. (I hope they have blanks in it!). Fayad wants to talk to the General. He won’t tell them where the bombs are until he does.

Bill calls the President and tells him about the ruse.

Bill tells Lennox and the President about the fake rescue. He tells them Jack doesn’t think Fayad will take them to the bombs until he talks to the General.

Lennox and the President meet with the Ambassador of Fayad’s country. He says they are doing everything they can to get the General to talk.

The General makes the call to Fayad. It appears that nothing is said to tip off Fayad that the General is being coerced into making the call. The General’s sons are being held at gunpoint. Fayad leads the fake terrorist to the bombs.

Now that the Ambassador has helped with the General, President Palmer tells him he can leave. After Karen leads him out of the room, President Palmer asks Lennox to help him, but collapses before Lennox can do anything. The President’s doctor comes in and refuses to give him anymore Adrenaline injections. The doctor threatens to resign. The President said he will refuse his resignation.

Back at CTU, Nadia tells Bill that she thinks that the General may have tipped off Fayad he was being coerced into making the call. He mentions a former colleague who has been dead for a couple of years.

Jack comes upon Fayad’s vehicle and everyone is dead except Fayad, who escaped. What can I say here? The man is a slippery little sucker!

Jack finds the vehicle and a door that leads to a boiler room. He enters and sees Fayad kill a sanitation worker and takes his cell phone. Fayad climbs into a garbage truck. Jack gets under the truck and clings to the undercarriage. He calls CTU but they can’t hear him.

Fayad drives the truck to a warehouse where the bombs are and tells his men Gredenko led them to him. Jack overtakes a guard and opens fire on all of Fayad’s men. He runs out of ammo when he gets to Fayad, so they start fighting. Jack finally grabs a chain and wraps it around Fayad’s neck and hangs Fayad. He tells him to “say hello to his brother for me.” (Fayad thinks Jack was responsible for murdering his brother.) Is it over? YES!!! Finally!

Doyle calls CTU and reports that Fayad is dead and the bombs are secure! Repeat, bombs are secure!

Doyle gets a call on his phone. It is for Jack. It turns out it is Audrey Raines. She is being held captive. Jack is to call the caller back on a secure line. Here comes our next story line, folks!

This Week on “24”

An injured Jack gets an injection for the pain so he can go for another hour. Doyle thanks him for everything he did to make sure the bombs were secured and Fayad was captured (or in this case, killed).

Jack calls Cheng back. Cheng wants the Russian nukes so they can have access to defense technology. They will give Jack Audrey in exchange. Jack tells him the military has the nukes, but Cheng replies, “You will find a way.”

Lennox sees that President Palmer is weak and tries to talk him into going back for medical care, but he refuses. Karen Hayes comes in and tells them CTU has killed Fayad and secured the nukes. President Palmer announces a press conference.

Jack calls Chloe and tells her that Audrey is still alive. He wants Chloe to get him the schematics for the bombs. She goes to Morris’ computer and sends the information to Jack’s cell phone.

VP Daniels is called to the Oval office to meet with President Palmer. The President asks for VP Daniels resignation. He says he cannot run this country and have Daniels undermining him. VP Daniels refuses, but President Palmer tells him that he could expose Lennox’s tape recording if he refuses.

Doyle calls Buchanan, Jack talks to him and tells him that he would never turn the circuit board over to the Chinese. He doesn’t get anywhere with Bill so he tells Bill that he wants to talk to President Palmer.

President Palmer takes the call from Jack. Jack tells him his plan for the rescue of Audrey. He says that he will use C-4 to bomb the circuit board if necessary once Audrey is safe. President Palmer tells him that the C-4 bomb will destroy everything within 30 feet, including Jack. Jack of course knows this. Jack tells the President, “You owe me!” I love that a person can tell the President of the United States that! The President concedes.

Jack asks Doyle to help him get Audrey back. Doyle asks why he wants his help and he tells him that he will be destroying the circuit board after he makes sure Audrey is safe.

VP Daniels tells Lisa the President has asked him to resign. He says he is going to do as the President asks. He tells her that the President has the tape of them talking.

Jack senses something is up and pulls a gun on Doyle. Jack tells him he killed his partner earlier in the day because he tried to stop him. He orders him to pull over and give him his cell phone.

Doyle stops the truck and gets out. Jack takes off in the truck.

Grade: C. When is VP Daniels going to get his?

Next Week on “24”: VP Daniels wants to know what Lennox plans on doing with the tape recording. Jack rescues Audrey.

President Palmer asks his doctor if it is possible to give him a shot of adrenaline. The doctor says it will cause his blood pressure to go up, but President Palmer wants to face VP Daniels standing up.

Jack tells Bill that Gredenko is willing to give up Fayad in exchange for immunity and that he won’t be sent back to Russia. Bill tells Jack the President has taken back the presidency.

President Palmer attends a meeting with the Cabinet, where they will invoke the 25th amendment. Dr. Walton tells them that he feels President Palmer will make a complete recovery.

President Palmer tells the cabinet why VP Daniels called the conference and emphatically announces he is in complete possession of his faculties.

The Cabinet reconvenes. President Palmer will remain in office because VP Daniels needs majority vote and it is a 7/7 tie.

Gredenko verifies the agreement with his lawyer. He calls Fayad. They agree to meet at the Santa Monica Pier.

Lisa tells VP Daniels that she is willing to lie and say VP Daniels told her Karen’s return would only be temporary.

Lennox asks to meet with VP Daniels alone. Lennox tells him that he bugged the room. Lennox tells the vice president to call the cabinet and tell them that he withdraws his claim about Karen’s vote being valid.

Jack and another agent inject Gredenko’s arm with a tracking device. Gredenko is preparing to meet with Fayad when he hears a phone ringing. There is a text message to meet in a designated building.

The CTU team loses sight of Gredenko, so Jack moves in. He doesn’t find anyone but Milo insists that the tracking says he is. They CUT OFF Gredenko’s arm!

Gredenko and Fayad enter a bar. Gredenko tells the patrons Fayad is the terrorist that the news is talking about. The patrons recognize him from his picture on the television and begin attacking him. Gredenko runs out the back door. Jack comes in and takes Fayad into custody. He calls CTU and tells them that Gredenko escaped.

Gredenko is fleeing under a pier. Weakened by the loss of blood, he collapses in the water. I assume he will drown if he isn’t already dead, but the way this show goes, it will pump new life into him and he will RISE AGAIN!

Karen and Tom declare a truce. He receives a call and is told President Palmer has instructed the launch of the missiles. Tom goes to the President and is told everyone thought he was too weak to be President and he needed to show them that he was strong enough to lead the country.

The Joint Chiefs confirms the launch was successful.

This Week on “24”

Jack tells the medic to keep the pilot alive, but it is too late (of course, that’s the way it always goes on “24”). Bill tells him about VP Daniels’ plan to go through with his plan to attack Fayad’s country. Jack must find Gredenko and Fayad in order to stop Daniels from launching the attack.

Doyle is informed by a technician named Johnson that an access module was used to infiltrate Nadia’s computer.

Karen approaches President Palmer’s sister Sandra and tells her about the Vice President’s plan to attack Fayad’s country. She wants Dr. Wells to bring the President out of the coma and see if he can overturn VP Daniels plan.

The Vice President is briefed on the upcoming U.S. attack on the nuclear attack on Fayad’s country. He is interrupted with a note from his assistant that Sandra has given permission to bring President Palmer out of his coma.

Dr. Wells is briefing Karen and Sandra when VP Daniels calls and tells him not to do as Sandra wishes. The doctor doesn’t cower and tells him he will do as the patient’s sister wishes. Atta boy!

Jack arrives at Mark Hauser’s home. Gunfire breaks out and Mark is hit. Mark calls Gredenko and makes an excuse why he can’t meet him, but arranges for Brady to meet him with the information.

Dr. Wells tells Sandra the President’s brain is beginning to swell and recommends they put him back in a coma.

Jack waits for Gredenko with Brady. They only have one shot at getting him. Jack puts Brady in place and puts an earwig in Brady’s ear and tells him what he wants him to do. Jack is very patient with him. It is quite a contradiction to Jack’s normally tough-guy demeanor. It is refreshing — almost like he has someone in his family like Brady.

Gredenko arrives and Brady gives him what they came for. Gredenko asks Brady why he is acting so nervous. In Russian, he tells his men to shoot Brady, which of course Jack understood. The sniper shoots a tranquilizer in Gredenko’s neck. They prep Gredenko for interrogation.

Jack confronts Gredenko. He tells Jack Fayad has the remaining bombs. Gredenko offers up Fayad in exchange for amnesty and that he won’t be sent back to Russia.

Lennox tells in the meeting with the VP about the apprehension of Gredenko, but Daniels plans to proceed with the launch. Just prior to the launch, the phone rings and it is President Palmer. He tells Daniels to call off the strike, that he is resuming his duties as Commander in Chief.

Daniels tells the Joint Chiefs that the President is not thinking clearly and calls the Attorney General.

Jack tells her he was seeing someone before he was taken hostage by the Chinese. Marilyn asks if he is talking about Audrey Raines. He says yes and she tells him that she is dead.

Nadia is interrogated by Doyle. Milo interrupts with word that Morris found the location of the source feed. It is only a few blocks away.

Gredenko’s man tells Gredenko the drone will reach its target of San Francisco within a few minutes.

Jack tells Buchanan he wants to go to the location of the drone pilot. After eliminating the guards, Jack and the rest of the team enter the building and shoots the pilot. Jack takes over the controls, turns away from San Francisco and heads it for isolated land.

Jack lands the drone. Soon after rescue personnel arrive to assess the situation, a Geiger counter was used and indicted radioactive material. The man operating the Geiger counter tells everyone to back away.

Bill instructs the guard to uncuff Nadia and tells her about the evidence Doyle had. He told her that her first instinct would be to quit, but he hoped she wouldn’t that they need there best people.
